Theodore White was a well-known writer and political correspondent. He was both European and national correspondent for The Reporter (1948 �E1954) and national correspondent for Collier's magazine (1955 �E1956). His book The Making of the President, 1960 (New York: Atheneum Publishers, 1961) chronicles the Nixon-Kennedy campaigns and election and includes detailed coverage of the debates. Theodore White died in 1986.
