The Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University was transformed into the convention floor of 1932 with bunting draped boxes, state delegate signs and music from the era.

There were even 1930s paparazzi there to greet the "delegates".

The program included the recreation of Franklin Delano Roosevelt accepting his first presidential nomination by actor Robert Vaughn. The "New Deal" speech was a turning point in American history that happened in Chicago 75 years ago. It was the night most Americans heard FDR on the radio for the very first time.

Proceeds from the 75th Anniversary Salute to FDR will support the ongoing operations of the MBC, a 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Proceeds will also help create an online educational research tool on political communications, as well as an exhibit on media and politics in the new museum.

The 75th Anniversary Salute to FDR was funded in part by the Tawani Foundation and National City Bank. Promotional support was provided by American Airlines, the Hilton Chicago, the Chicago Tribune and WGN Radio.
