Robert W. Morgan

Robert W. Morgan entertained the Los Angeles radio audience for three decades. His unique sense of timing, wit and charm earned him an enduring place of honor in the industry. Twice named Billboard’s “Air Personality of the Year,” he was also honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Robert?s radio tour-de-force began at Wooster College’s WWST, and then he was off to California and KACY/Oxnard. Next was the US Army and KMBY/Monterey, followed by K-MAKE/Fresno KROY/Sacramento, and KEWB/San Francisco.

In 1965 he came to Los Angeles as the original morning “Boss Jock” on legendary 93/KHJ. His signature “Good Morgan!” awakened millions of listeners. A measure of Robert W.?s popularity was an unparalleled 20 share in the Arbitron ratings.

He “Morganized” listeners at WIND/Chicago in 1972, then returned to KHJ/Los Angeles. He took the morning slot at KMPC in 1975, continuing his “morning magic” at MAGIC 106FM. Robert?s remarkable career concluded at KRTH 101FM with one of the most competitive, topical and entertaining shows on the dial.

Robert W. Morgan died on May 22, 1998.

Robert W. Morgan was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 1999.
